Phison believed that the price decline of NAND FLASH has slowed down

Phison Electronics (8299-TW), the manufacturer of the controllers for NAND flash memory chips, announced its APR19 revenue today on May 8th. Due to continuous decline in NAND Flash price, its APR19 consolidated revenue was NTD3.084bn (-5.8% MoM, -12.33% YoY). Its JAN19-APR19 revenue was NTD12.427bn (- 3.04% YoY).

Phison believed that the decline of NAND FLASH price has slowed down. The company pointed out that the terminal demand has recovered due to the price drop and the downstream buyers has begun the inventory replenishment.

According to Phison, the ASP of NAND Flash continued to fall until the end of April, which was the main cause of the decline in its APR19 revenue. However, the shipment of SSD and eMMC increased YoY by nearly 40%; the shipment of the memory modules grew by more than 65%, and the memory bits shipment increased by more than 1.06 times. Although the demand in the market is unfavorable, the company’s revenue/earnings is still stable.
